One-hundred years after the birth of world renowned jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, Django’s Tiger was formed to offer mid-Missouri gypsy-jazz-inspired tunes with a touch of sophistication.
These are musicians playing music of an earlier time with their own personal style and modern perspective.
Jazz Manouche, aka Gypsy Swing originated in Europe, blending traditional Roma forms with elements of American jazz and swing. This style offers lively arpeggio runs, energetic vocals along with improvised guitar and mandolin solos. The rhythm guitar brings distinct percussive la pompe in conjunction with the plucking of a strong syncopated bass line.
Django’s Tiger will have you tapping along to all your jazz favorites and eagerly looking forward to the next tune.
